Sinusitis Symptoms

We recommend monitoring with initial drug therapy, and if symptoms do not improve, surgical treatment is advised.

Surgical Procedure

STEP 01

A board-certified ENT specialist conducts a thorough consultation based on precision diagnostic imaging.

STEP 02

If there are no complications such as rhinitis or nasal polyps, drug therapy is administered for 4–6 weeks to monitor progress.

STEP 03

If drug therapy does not bring improvement, advanced endoscopic surgery is performed to widen the opening of the paranasal sinuses.

STEP 04

When complications are present, surgery for rhinitis, deviated septum, or nasal polyps is performed concurrently.

FAQs: Sinusitis

Sinusitis is inflammation of the sinuses. Symptoms lasting 12 weeks or more are described as chronic sinusitis.

Symptoms include nasal congestion, headache, facial flushing, post-nasal drip, reduced sense of smell, and yellow nasal discharge. Initially, symptoms are monitored during 4–6 weeks of medication; if there is no improvement, endoscopic surgery is performed to widen the sinus openings. When complications are present, surgery for rhinitis, deviated septum, or nasal polyps is performed concurrently.

Surgery takes under 1 hour under local anesthesia with same-day discharge; recovery is approximately 3–4 weeks with 5–6 follow-up visits (recovery varies by individual). Deviated septum, nasal valve stenosis, rhinitis, and sinusitis may qualify for private medical indemnity insurance after testing — please confirm your reimbursement rate directly with your insurer.
