What is Rhinitis?
Rhinitis is an inflammatory condition accompanied by various symptoms
including runny nose, sneezing, nasal congestion, and itching. Without active treatment in its
early stages, it becomes chronic. Chronic rhinitis can also cause other complications,
which is why early treatment is important.
Structural abnormality
Rhinitis caused by deviated nasal septum
Chronic hypertrophic rhinitis
Functional abnormality
Allergic rhinitis
Vasomotor rhinitis
Other causes
Infection, hormonal, medication,
occupational, emotional, etc.
“
Baroko rhinitis surgery accurately identifies the cause
and provides personalised treatment accordingly.
”
Baroko Rhinitis Treatment by Cause of Nasal Congestion
Through precise examination and a thorough patient interview, Baroko identifies the cause of rhinitis
and administers personalised treatment to minimise the chance of recurrence.

Medication
Treatment is applied in stages according to the pattern and severity of symptoms.
Oral / topical antihistamines,
intranasal corticosteroids, anticholinergic sprays, and other
medications are prescribed to match the individual's condition.

Immunotherapy
Sublingual immunotherapy allows the patient to regularly place
an extract of the allergen under the tongue.
It can be taken anywhere, at any time,
making treatment easy and convenient.
Functional Surgery
01
Inferior turbinate laser
When the other structures are normal but rhinitis has caused
the inferior turbinate to enlarge and narrow the airway,
a simple laser procedure is used for treatment.
02
Deviated nasal septum correction
A deviated nasal septum can cause nasal deformity,
congestion, and headaches.
Straightening the septum improves the shape and the airway.
03
Nasal valve stenosis
The nasal valve is the space at the top of the inside of the nose.
When it narrows, breathing becomes difficult due to congestion
and reconstruction surgery is required.
Rhinitis Precision Examination & Diagnosis
Patient interview & in-depth consultation
Our ENT specialist conducts the consultation in person,
assessing symptoms and mucosa through an in-depth evaluation

skin-prick testing, gustation testing, olfaction testing, and threshold testing.
Precision examination
State-of-the-art 3D-CT and precision endoscopy are used

Rhinitis Surgery — FAQ
Rhinitis is an inflammatory condition accompanied by multiple symptoms including runny nose, sneezing, nasal congestion, and itching. Without active treatment in the early stages it becomes chronic and can lead to complications — which is why early treatment is important.
Through precise examination and a patient interview, we identify the cause (structural abnormality, functional abnormality, or other) and provide personalised treatment. Medication, sublingual immunotherapy, inferior turbinate laser, and other functional surgeries are applied in stages according to the patient's condition in order to minimise the chance of recurrence.
Baroko can combine functional nasal surgery (rhinitis, deviated nasal septum, etc.) with cosmetic rhinoplasty of the bridge and tip in a single procedure. Deviated nasal septum, nasal valve stenosis, rhinitis, and sinusitis may qualify for medical expense insurance following examination; however, reimbursement rates vary depending on enrolment date and policy terms, so please confirm directly with your insurer.
