When the nasal septum and cartilage are deviated, they are separated, the deviated septum is corrected, and a spreader graft is placed to straighten the structure.
A deviated nasal septum that accompanies a crooked nose can also be resolved through correction. Surgery takes under 2 hours and is performed under local and/or IV sedation, with same-day admission and discharge. Sutures are removed 6–7 days later and recovery is approximately 1 week (individual results vary).
